As a parent of a young child with developmental delays, you are looking for meaningful ways to engage your child in group settings AND help them gain the skills they need to interact with others. You want to build these important skills with your child, but you might not be sure exactly how. You also know that you need a nurturing group environment that will respect your child’s unique needs and abilities and support them as they learn.
If this sounds like you, we are excited to share with you our In Sync music and speech program. Through connecting with others, participating in groups, and following routines, your child will be set-up to communicate better, develop skills to build relationships, and be more successful in group environments. We have strategically designed our In Sync program to meet your child where they are at developmentally and work towards growing them to their next level.
Who should attend Pathways’ In Sync Music + Speech group?
At Pathways, we care deeply about ensuring each child’s success and safety in each group program we offer. As such, choosing the right group for your child is important. Your child is a perfect fit for the In Sync program if:
They are 2+ years of age and are experiencing developmental delays, particularly difficulties with connection, social engagement, and language development. This could look like struggles with developing and maintaining friendships, following routines, being in groups, and/or communicating with others.
They would benefit from programming held within a welcoming, inclusive environment that supports and accepts their unique abilities and responds to their areas of need.
What this program will build in your child:
In Sync is a 5-week, small-group, and parent-attended program. Each In Sync class is led by a Speech-Language Pathologist who will use music and dancing to work on:
Participating in a group environment
Engaging in an activity for increased periods of time
Creating moments of meaningful social engagement and connection
Following routines and directions
Building language and pre-communication foundations
At Pathways, our philosophy for supporting all children lies within a neurodiversity-affirming framework. We also work within a developmentally-focused approach. Regardless of diagnosis, children need connection and attachment with others to learn. For very young children with delays, we must first support their ability to connect with other people for shared engagement. This is what In Sync can provide for your child; opportunities for your child to build all of these foundations.
How it Works:
In Sync offers weekly 45-minute sessions over a 5-week block. Your child must attend with a caregiver each week who stays with them during the class. You and your child will work together each week to build enjoyment and participation in the group environment. At this time, only one parent/caregiver can attend each week.
Each weekly session is run by a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist and one of our Program Support Staff. Our team will guide you through songs, dancing, connection, and fun to help your child become more in sync with you and the world around them.
Investment:
The program fee for the five weeks is an investment of $330.
Receipts will be provided so you can claim up to the full amount* on your health insurance under private speech therapy coverage (*depends on individual family coverage amount). Additionally, the Speech-Language Pathologist running the In Sync group is a listed service provider on the provincial Autism Spectrum Disorder Individualized Funding registry.
Please note: The program fee is refundable, less a $75 cancellation charge, until three weeks before the program’s start date. Cancellations made within three weeks of a program’s start date WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. Missed sessions during the program are not eligible for reduced fees or refunds. Programs may be cancelled if sufficient enrollment is not achieved; refunds will be given in such a case.

How to Register:
Registration will occur online through our Jane Online Booking site. Click the REGISTER HERE button below, click on In Sync Music + Speech, and select the SPECIFIC START DATE for the session in which you wish to register your child.
**IMPORTANT** You only need to select just the start date and complete the booking for your child in that single session; our team will complete your booking for the remaining 4 weeks of the program.
Once you have completed the booking you will receive an intake form via email from our booking system Jane. You will need to complete this form AND ENSURE you provide your credit card onto your Jane account. A FULL PAYMENT will be collected at the time of registration once our team receives your booking and processes the charge on your credit card. The full $330 will exist on your Jane account as a credit until the sessions are completed, then the credit will be applied $66/class after each class is completed. **Four week sessions are $264.00 total.
** You will NOT receive session receipts (for insurance/funding) until AFTER each session is attended. Session receipts, to show therapist details and service dates, will be automatically emailed after each session.
