Neurodivergent Wellness Coaching + Occupational Therapy

Helping Neurodivergent Teens + Adults to Achieve Balance, Regulation, and Wellness

Life can be challenging, especially for those of us with neurodifferences. We understand that your journey may sometimes feel like an uphill battle, where everyday activities can be draining, overwhelming, and frustrating. But here's the good news: you don't have to navigate this path alone. Neurodiversity-affirming, strength-based occupational therapy is here to help.

Occupational therapy can be the guiding light at any age and stage in life. It's all about ensuring you're as comfortable in the world as possible, with access to the supports you need. We believe that looking at life through a neurodiverse lens is the key to leading a life that works for you. By establishing an understanding of your regulation profile, environmental stressors, and lifestyle needs and goals, you can create a foundation upon which you can build balance and wellness within your day-to-day routines.

So, are you:
- Wondering if you might be neurodivergent?
- Searching for a therapist who can relate to your experiences?
- Exploring ways to better support yourself?
- Pondering adjustments for your work and/or home environments that could make life easier?
- Seeking someone who will genuinely listen, validate your experiences, and offer practical support?

Meet Dyan, Occupational Therapist (BScOT)

Dyan graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alberta. She has spent years working with children in both school and home settings along with their families. Recently she has also designed mental health programs for educators dealing with the challenges of teaching in diverse classrooms during a pandemic. Dyan specializes in supporting neurodiverse teens and recognizes that neurodiverse adults can benefit from occupational therapy too.

Dyan's passion for neuroscience has given her a deep understanding of the nervous system, sensory processing, the body’s response to life experiences and the individual nuances that make us unique. She focuses on improving self awareness and self acceptance to facilitate growing the skills and making lifestyle changes that enhance physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. She supports individuals who experience executive function (thinking), emotional regulation (feeling), and behavioural (doing) challenges. She assists her clients to uncover their strengths and use those strengths to practice the skills, strategies, and adjustments needed to create a life that fits who they authentically are.

Dyan’s goal is to support individuals to grow their self-awareness and self-efficacy while acknowledging the pain and grief that has led to the desire to get support. By practicing skills and strategies together, building on experiences of success, and establishing sustainable habits and routines, every client can cultivate self-compassion to meet challenges with greater acceptance and embrace their authentic self.

Dyan's aim is to create a safe space where everyone feels seen, heard, and understood. Her gentle approach, empathy, openness, and extensive knowledge helps clients feel secure and supported as they grow on their personal journey.

If you're looking for supportive, empowering guidance from an understanding occupational therapist who "gets it," you are in the right place.
